Ingredients

Quantities are for one portion.

  • 50 gwhite cabbage, chopped
  • 15 gsugar
  • 70 gdry white rice
  • 30 ggochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 50 gsweet potato, cubed
  • 1 tbspvegetable oil
  • 1 tbspsesame oil
  • 30 mlsoy sauce
  • 150 gchicken thighs, cut into pieces

Method

  1. Rinse the white rice and steam it until fluffy. Keep warm.
  2. In a bowl, mix the gochujang, soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil to form a thick marinade. Toss the chicken pieces in this mixture.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a wide pan over medium heat.
  4. Add the marinated chicken, chopped cabbage, and cubed sweet potato to the pan.
  5. Stir-fry constantly to ensure the thick gochujang sauce does not burn to the bottom of the pan.
  6. Cook until the sweet potato cubes are soft and the chicken is fully cooked through.
  7. Serve the spicy chicken and vegetables alongside the hot steamed rice.
