Delete your Simpleat account

This page explains how to delete your Simpleat account and everything stored with it. You can do it yourself inside the app, or ask us to do it for you.
Delete it yourself, in the app
This is immediate and does not need our involvement.
- Open Simpleat and make sure you are signed in.
- Tap Profile in the bottom navigation bar.
- Tap the settings icon (the gear, top right of the Profile screen).
- Scroll to the bottom, to Delete your Simpleat account, and tap Delete account.
- Confirm when asked. Your account and data are removed straight away, and you are signed out.
If you signed in with Apple, deleting your account also revokes Simpleat's access to your Apple ID, so it no longer appears under Sign in with Apple in your Apple account settings.
Or ask us to delete it
If you cannot reach the app — for example you no longer have the device, or cannot sign in — email us and we will delete the account for you.
Email contact@simpleat.app from the address your account uses, with the subject Delete my account.
We verify the request comes from the account holder, delete the account, and confirm by email. We aim to do this within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes all of the following:

| Profile | Your name, dietary preferences, household size, cooking time and calorie settings |
| Meal plans | Every plan you have created and the recipes in it |
| Grocery lists | All lists, including items you added yourself |
| Calendar | Every meal you have scheduled |
| Favourites and ratings | Saved recipes, plus any ratings and reviews you have written |
This happens in a single operation. There is no partial deletion, and no archived copy is kept for us to restore later.
What is kept, and for how long
Two things are not removed when you delete your account, and neither identifies you:
- Recipes. The recipe library belongs to Simpleat, not to your account. Your plans and lists are deleted; the recipes themselves stay for other users.
- Server and security logs. Kept for 90 days for security and fraud prevention, then deleted automatically. These record technical events, not the contents of your account.
Where a longer period is required by law — for example a tax or accounting obligation — we keep only what the law requires and nothing more.
How long deletion takes
Deleting from inside the app removes your data immediately. However you request it, all personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days at the latest, in line with our Privacy Notice.
Before you delete
Deletion cannot be undone. Your meal plans, grocery lists and saved recipes cannot be recovered afterwards, and signing up again with the same email creates a new, empty account.
