Char Siu with Rice and Greens

Ingredients

Quantities are for one portion.

  • 1 tbsphoisin sauce
  • 70 gwhite rice
  • salt to taste
  • 100 gpak choi
  • 1 tbspsesame oil
  • 15 mlsoy sauce
  • 1 tsphoney
  • 150 gpork shoulder
  • 1garlic clove, minced

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to a high heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, and minced garlic. Coat the pork shoulder in the marinade.
  3. Roast the marinated pork in the oven until cooked through and caramelized on the outside. Let it rest.
  4. Meanwhile, cook the dry white rice in salted water until soft and fluffy. Set aside.
  5. Boil a small pot of water and blanch the pak choi until tender. Drain.
  6. Slice the rested char siu pork into thin strips.
  7. Arrange the pork and pak choi over the hot rice and serve.
