Char Siu with Rice and Greens
Sweet and sticky roasted char siu pork slices placed over hot rice, paired with fresh green pak choi.
Ingredients
Quantities are for one portion.
- 1 tbsphoisin sauce
- 70 gwhite rice
- salt to taste
- 100 gpak choi
- 1 tbspsesame oil
- 15 mlsoy sauce
- 1 tsphoney
- 150 gpork shoulder
- 1garlic clove, minced
Method
- Preheat the oven to a high heat.
- In a bowl, mix the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, and minced garlic. Coat the pork shoulder in the marinade.
- Roast the marinated pork in the oven until cooked through and caramelized on the outside. Let it rest.
- Meanwhile, cook the dry white rice in salted water until soft and fluffy. Set aside.
- Boil a small pot of water and blanch the pak choi until tender. Drain.
- Slice the rested char siu pork into thin strips.
- Arrange the pork and pak choi over the hot rice and serve.
