Ingredients

Quantities are for one portion.

  • 10 gparmesan cheese, grated
  • 100 gspaghetti
  • 1celery stalk, finely diced
  • 15 mlolive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1onion, finely diced
  • 150 gcanned diced tomatoes
  • 2garlic cloves, minced
  • 150 gbeef mince
  • 1carrot, finely diced

Method

  1. Heat the olive oil in a heavy pot. Sauté the diced onion, carrot, and celery until softened.
  2. Add the minced garlic and the beef mince to the pot. Cook until the meat is browned.
  3. Stir in the canned diced tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Lower the heat, cover, and let the ragù simmer slowly for at least an hour to develop a deep flavor.
  5. Boil the spaghetti in salted water until al dente, then drain.
  6. Toss the hot pasta directly into the rich meat sauce until coated.
  7. Serve in a deep bowl, topped with the grated parmesan cheese.
