Ingredients
Quantities are for one portion.
- 100 gchicken breast, diced
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1onion, finely diced
- 70 gwhite rice
- 1 tbspvegetable oil
- 1egg
- 15 mlsoy sauce
- 50 gcabbage, finely shredded
- 2garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbspsweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
Method
- Cook the dry white rice in salted water until fluffy. Let it cool down, preferably spreading it out.
- Heat half of the vegetable oil in a wok over high heat. Fry the diced chicken until browned and cooked through.
- Push the chicken aside. Add the shredded cabbage, diced onion, and minced garlic to the hot wok. Stir-fry rapidly.
- Tip the cooled white rice into the wok, tossing everything together.
- Drizzle the sweet soy sauce and regular soy sauce over the rice, mixing well.
- In a separate pan, fry the egg in the remaining vegetable oil until the white sets.
- Slide the fried rice onto a plate and top with the fried egg.
