Ingredients

Quantities are for one portion.

  • 150 gthinly sliced pork belly
  • 15 gsugar
  • 70 gdry white rice
  • 1onion, sliced
  • 2 tbspgochujang
  • 1 tbspsesame oil
  • 15 mlsoy sauce
  • 1 tspgrated garlic

Method

  1. Rinse and cook the white rice until fluffy. Keep warm.
  2. Mix the gochujang, soy sauce, sugar, and grated garlic in a bowl to form a thick, spicy paste.
  3. Toss the thinly sliced pork belly in the paste until evenly coated.
  4. Heat a pan over medium heat without extra oil. Fry the coated pork.
  5. As the pork fat renders, add the sliced onion to the pan.
  6. Stir-fry continuously until the pork is cooked through, the onions are soft, and the sauce is sticky and caramelized.
  7. Remove from heat, drizzle with sesame oil, and serve over the hot steamed rice.
